This renowned FTSE 100 organisation is undergoing a period of change as the business sets impressive growth targets for the upcoming year. In line with this period of growth, the Procurement team has a number of openings as it bolsters its influence business wide.

This global brand is currently looking for a Senior Buyer to join on a permanent basis to manage the consumable and componentry spend. Reporting to the Procurement Manager and responsible for one Buyer, this opportunity will see you work both tactically and strategically to manage a multimillion pound spend.

The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of delivering results and not only practicing, but initiating best practice across the wider business. You will need to be able to thrive in a dynamic fast moving business environment and have the interpersonal skills to match. You will be providing active support, working alongside the Purchasing Manager as well as executing self-led sourcing programmes and strategies.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Leading on the strategic sourcing strategies for procuring the parts and components, analysing market data and assessing risks/opportunities
• Effectively manage both internal and external stakeholder relationships
• Lead on tendering, negotiating and contract management
• Conducting regular analysis of supplier spend and performance indicating opportunities and threats and taking action accordingly
• Manage a Tactical Buyer effectively

Key skills required:

• Effective communicator and negotiator
• Experience in procuring consumables/component parts within a maritime, manufacturing or engineering environment
• Experience in category management, that end-to-end procurement process
• Ability to lead and motivate, ideally you will have experience in managing another person/people
• Can do attitude with the willingness to progress and further your career
