This innovative organisation is currently looking for a Senior Category Manager to head up the IT & Telecoms category in a newly created role, aiding expansion of the team. Managing the procurement of IT Hardware, Software and Infrastructure, you will be utilising your knowledge of IT Procurement to strategically develop and implement category plans and provide best value for money, whilst achieving cost efficiencies. Reporting to the Head of Procurement and operating within a fantastic, supportive Procurement team who champion best procurement practice, this is the ideal role for you to share strategic thinking and help mentor the Procurement Officers/Administrators. Your responsibilities will include:

• Develop and implement strategic category plans, covering the end-to-end process from initial requirement, market analysis, tender/contract management, implementation, post analysis/lessons learnt
• Provide expert advice on IT & Telecoms and procurement legislation, delivering complex IT procurement projects within a category management approach
• Ensure a consistent approach to procurement in terms of corporate governance and compliance
• Lead high value tender projects in line with public procurement regulations (OJEU)
• Effective Stakeholder Relationship Management, advising both internal and external stakeholders on strategic decisions, best practice and negotiating terms – inevitably building strong, long term partnerships
• Suggesting innovative and creative procurement solutions to sourcing

Key skills required:

• Understanding of commercial drivers within the IT & Telecoms category and experience in procuring Hardware, Software and Infrastructure
• Expert category management experience with demonstrable success from category plan development and implementation
• Effective communicator and highly personable to integrate with the team and build strong stakeholder relationships
• Ideally you will have experience in procuring with OJEU regulations, but this is not a necessity
• Ideally you will degree educated or CIPS qualified
