This leading financial services organisation is going through an exciting time as they undergo Procurement Transformation and a step change in the way they work. The Senior Category Manager, Claims role with look after 1 of 2 categories, namely Household and Commercial or Outsourced Products & Aggregators and based out any number of offices around the UK.

Your role will be to lead the development and execution of commercial strategies which provide competitive advantage for the business in the market. You will have a deep understanding of the Claims market and be demonstrably expert in this category, understanding key trends in the market and proactively using these to bring innovation into the business, whilst unlocking value year-on-year from commercial arrangements. As Senior Category Manager you will manage portfolios which are significant in terms of Customer and Business impact, spend, market complexity and scope. Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Design, build, execute and maintain the overall Category Strategy including a prioritised set of Procurement opportunities agreed with stakeholders and sourcing and negotiation strategies which together deliver sustainable benefits and competitive advantage.
  • Ensure that the above delivers end-to-end commercial, contractual and relationship lifecycle value, in the eyes of key stakeholders and from the bottom line, specifically ensuring that:
    • Develop clear service specification documents that enable best service provision fit.
    • Understand cost drivers and value levers when formulating specifications, ensuring the Total Cost of Ownership is fully understood and a central part of Procurement activity.
    • Developing optimum routes to market based on market developments and business requirements.
  • Build, develop and maintain key relationships ensuring that your assigned category is recognised as a Centre of Excellence with up-to-date market insight.
  • Manage the category area continually reviewing the efficacy, efficiency and security of current supply arrangements and customer impacts ensuring that contracts remain in force, effective and up to date with market trends, price and service competitiveness and regulatory change
  • Ensure your leadership behaviours are first class and align to the framework, support and develop your team, ensuring solid performance and continual development of the colleagues with your team.

You will be responsible for up to c£200m annual spend and negotiating varying levels of contracts to suit business needs, including multi-year strategic commitments.
