Procurement raises a glass to raise money for Macmillan

Yesterday we held our charity Wine Tasting Event to raise money for Macmillan Cancer Support. The evening was a great success and thanks to the generous support of our network we managed to smash our fundraising target and raise £550.

From a procurement perspective the rousing talk given by Cecile Bergart, Wine Tutor and Proprietor of the Hampshire Wine School was fascinating, highlighting how buying trends have influenced wine production across the globe, particularly in Countries such as New Zealand where the British love of Marlborough Sauvignon has resulted in 77% of the Country’s wine production now originating from that region.

Another high point of the evening was the inspiring speech given by Alice Dewsnap, Area Fundraising Manager for Macmillan, explaining how the money we raised could be used to offer a cancer sufferer some vital support or assistance.

I know that everyone in the Procurement Heads team came away with some very definite opinions around their favourite tipple of the evening and as a result we’re running a competition for anyone who LIKES and FOLLOWS our company LinkedIn page to be in with a chance of winning a bottle of one of the wines showcased on the night.

Thank you again to everyone who attended yesterday and contributed to such a vibrant, enjoyable and successful event.
